The cryptic narratives leave gaps for viewers to fill in, as a springboard for their own imaginations.

Cynthia Rowley was seven when she created her first dress. She later entered the School of the Art Institute of Chicago as a drawing and painting major, and after much consideration she combined her sewing and drawing - thinking it would be much to make a living in fashion (HA). Her drawings featured on Little Collector are taken from and inspired by her book Slim: A Fantasy Memoir, published by Rizzoli. A collection of stories and images, Slim is loosely based on Cynthia's creative childhood and the days leading up to the beginning of her career in fashion. Today, Cynthia's collection of women's clothing and accessories sells in over 60 of her own stores as well as others all over the world. She is the mother of two daughters and is married to Bill Powers, co-owner of Half Gallery on the Lower East Side and judge on Bravo's competition series "Work of Art." Cynthia is an avid art collector and is on the board of RxArt, an organization dedicated to placing art in children's hospitals and healing environments.
